Summer Fun- Week 4

June is coming to a close. The days are getting brighter and a whole lot hotter. What’s better to cool off in the sun then a squirt gun and water balloon fight?!

Summer Fun

What You’ll Need

A Few Squirt Guns- You can usually buy them at your local dollar store.

Water Balloon Kit- You may be able to find this at the dollar store but if not you can usually pick on up pretty cheap at Walmart or Target. If not you can find one on Amazon.

A Water Source- You’ll need water to fill your water guns and balloon kits.

To make it more fun buy prizes or set up obstacle courses. For older kids think about using the soft paint ball gels for added age appropriate fun!

*Warning: Avoid buying realistic looking water guns. It’s always smart to exercise on the side of caution. No need for confusion or unwanted attention. Instead go for the neon colored ones.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

1 Package of Edible Sugar Cookie Dough (Package that makes 25-28 Cookies)- *The dough must be labeled to eat raw.

3 Medium Sized Lemons Freshly Squeezed

1 (16 oz) Package of White Melting Chocolate

1 Pot

1 Cookie Sheet

Wax Paper

1 Package Cream Cheese

4 Table Spoons Sugar of Your Choice

Mixer

Small Bowl

Cookie Sheet

INSTRUCTIONS: In your mixer blend the cream cheese, sugar, and half of the lemon juice. Put mixer in small bowl and set aside. Clean mixing bowl. Next, blend the edible raw cookie dough and the remainder of your lemon juice in the mixer. Lay out a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet. Roll dough into small spheres about 1 inch thick. Freeze the cookie dough balls for 4 hours. After 4 hours, take out the cookie dough balls and coat them in your cream cheese mixture. Freeze balls for an additional hour. Next, melt the white chocolate. Dip the frozen ball into the white chocolate so they are lightly coated. Place on a clean cookie sheet coated with wax paper and leave in freezer until ready to serve. These are a great snack to serve on a hot day. They are a pretty heavy treat so I recommend eating them after an intense summer activity not during the activity. A sweet treat to end the day.
